Avondale Mills vs Norfolk Southern settlement details emerge

Settlement talk continues from page 1A as Avondale Mills seeks 420 million in damages from Norfolk Southern over a 2005 Graniteville chlorine spill. Nine died, 250 injured, 5,400 evacuated. Avondale claims the wreck and corrosive exposure crushed the mill. Norfolk Southern argues foreign competition led to closure. Avondale representatives did not comment.
