Bills offer tax breaks to save energy and produce power
In South Carolina lawmakers consider three energy tax bills led by Senate President Pro Temp Tom McConnell. One bill would suspend sales tax on Energy Star appliances bought in October 2008 or April 2009 up to 2500 dollars. A second bill would grant a sales tax break to companies purchasing machinery and parts for electricity from solar wind tides or biomass.
