Tax tag enforcement return eyed by Aiken County officials
Aiken County Council committee discussed restoring tag regulation enforcement to the tax collector’s office to target out of state vehicle tags. The plan would add one code enforcement officer with annual costs around 61 824 dollars and recurring costs of 40 224 dollars, plus cooperation from sheriff and local safety agencies. The measure aims to recover potential tax revenue and may lead to business registration rules and fees in the 2006 07 budget era.
