March Driest Since 1988 Grips South Carolina

In Charleston only 0.7 inch of rain fell last month, about 4 inches below normal, marking the fifth driest March since 1891. Statewide average rainfall was 1.9 inches, the driest since 1988 and sixth on record, per climatologist D J Smith.
