Ex-councilman given 366 days for bribery extortion
Former Orangeburg County councilman John Rickenbacker 55 pleaded guilty to bribery and extortion after taking $50,000 from an agent posing as a consultant to push the sale of Regional Medical Center of Orangeburg and Calhoun counties. He will serve about a year in prison, pay fines, and be on three years of probation.
