Study links air pollution to stronger hurricanes
A MIT meteorology professor Kerry Emanuel reports in Nature that ongoing air pollution raising carbon dioxide could make some hurricanes up to 60 percent stronger this century. Using a computer model of August conditions he projects higher maximum hurricane intensities, especially in the Gulf of Mexico, if CO2 doubles.
