Local notes record Joe Graves leaving for North Carolina to care for his farm and various visits and movements among residents. Names include Wesley Jones selling to James Higgs, families hosted for dinners, moves to Lebanon and Indianapolis, Labor Day closings, farm help sought, and church and community events across Warren County with multiple families mentioned.
Harold Smith's scarlet fever case reported in New Ross. Rev R H Gott of Kokomo will preach at 11 o'clock Sunday morning at the homecoming service. he is a former pastor of the church. Attendees urged.
A Sunday evening platform meeting at the Christian church inspired attendees with songs led by the congregation and a devotional by the pastor. Chicago’s Mr. Bourne shared life sketches and credited Mr. Doty as his guide, noting Doty’s work rescuing 120 boys in Chicago. A closing fellowship followed.
Crawfordsville chose dry city status by 189 vote majority in a close local option election. Sheriff Wren freed two accused wet voters from jail the night before results. Charles Lewis was arrested on a vote buying charge and released on a 100 bond.
Frank Lin Garrison Imes of Montgomery County celebrates his 89th birthday. Born near Richmond Indiana on Sept 4 1824 he has lived under twenty seven presidents and sailed for sixteen. He is known as one of the county’s oldest men and is the first on the street after dawn each day.
William C. Gray died suddenly at his brother Albert Gray s home in New Ross on August 30. Aged 47, he had been in delicate health but walked until the end. He mended shoes for years, son of Zimii and Eve Gray, funeral at his home Tuesday at ten with burial at Mt. Pleasant south of town. He was related to Willard Gardner.
Dr. O. A. Nelson Lora McClaine and wife visited James Neal and family in Warren county over Sunday and Monday. Mrs Susie Jackson and Lena returned home with them and the requester urges payment to avoid a ban.
Mrs. J. T. Jones north of town was surprised Thursday by a Sunday School class gathering to mark her fifty-seventh birthday. Fifty-three members attended, enjoyed refreshments, and wished her many more birthdays.
Attendance at Sunday School first Sunday was 111 with offerings 2.32. Bibles 30. Willing Workers meet first Saturday afternoon each month. Sunday School every Sunday at 10 o’clock. Special effort to be on time next Sunday. Preaching service every second and fourth Sunday of each month, both morning and evening.
Mr Jennie Ross plans a millinery shop in our town after Miss Davin moved to Jamestown The new venture aims to serve women with up to date hats at reasonable prices The shop will operate from J W Ross's North Main Street residence and is slated to open around the 19th or 20th of the month

Jamestown plans a four day Home Coming in October with a large premium list for farm products fruits and home handiwork. The finance committee is reviewing its report to determine funding and the event aims to showcase the community and its products as a premier affair.
