Attendance at Sunday School last Sunday was 117 with a collection of 3.03 dollars. Weaikers meet first Saturday afternoon each month and Sunday School occurs every Sunday at Jo celock. A special effort to be there next Sunday. Preaching services every second and fourth Sunday of each month both morning and evening.
The annual alumni reception honored the graduating class of Advance High School last Friday. The assembly hall featured red and white Senior colors with apple blossoms and spring flowers. The North Salem orchestra provided music and a three course supper followed late. Red and white carnations were given as favors.

Charles E. Greathouse and Dr. W. A. Millis spoke at the Jamestown high school commencement held in the Christian church. Governor Samuel M. Ralston, ill with neuralgia, asked Greathouse to fill his slot, with Millis joining as a second speaker to complete the joint program.
Ora McDaniel reports from the town of Advance about a compact gasoline powered cart with a sheep shearing attachment. The device moves like a trotting rooster and can drive to sheep, shear them, and continue across a flock, a potential labor saver rivaling expensive rigs. Willard Gardner is cited as a reference for the idea.
The church advertises a Mother's Day Sunday with a free carnation for each Sunday School attendee. Advance won last month’s banner. the aim is to win it again this month. Preaching both morning and evening with morning service at 11 o clock on “Uncovered Queens” and an evening sermon at 7:30 on “A Sanctimonious Lie.”
The Advance Christian church plans to attend the Churches of Christ in Indiana convention in Indianapolis May 12 to 14. Delegates will receive free lodging and breakfasts, with entertainment at local homes. A May 13 city auto tour and banquets at Butler College and the Y M C A accompany sessions at Central Christian Church. Governor Ralston will give the welcome address.
The annual commencement exercises at Advance High School were held at Advance Christian Church last Thursday. Hon. M. E. Foley gave the class address and Star Piano Co. provided music. The graduates were Opal Fink, Jane Brown, Florence Proffitt, Ruby Cornelius, Oakel Ashwell, Marvin Caldwell, Carmen Caplinger, Harold Lane, and George Canada.
Brown son of T E Brown marries Miss Blanch Hansel in the county clerk office Greencastle. Groom employed at the Advance elevator. Friends here extend congratulations and best wishes.
Mrs. Wm Todd returned home after visiting Culver parents. Several families including Morrison, Butler, and Reese hosted relatives and friends on various Sundays. Dorsa Butler Goldie Scott of near New Ross works for Vergil Morrison. Nell Jackson stays with grandmother Mrs Eden Reese. George Canada and wife from Advance visited Vergil. Martha Hutchinson hosted and guests included Sylven Heath and Mabel Zimmerman. John Emmert sustained three fractured ribs last Thursday after a hay wagon gate incident caused him to be mashed against the post.
Louis Spehr born at Brunswick on April 5 174 two rival to Paganini. The German violinist influenced violin playing and general composition, admired by Wagner who thanked him in a letter. Spehr died in Cassel in 1859, leaving a lasting musical legacy.
Elzada Young versus Otis W. Young for divorce was called Monday for trial after a venue change from the Boone Circuit Court. The case, described as sensational, may occupy Judge West for a week. The Youngs reside west of Dover.
A Newark Call item recounts a local manufacturer furious at a customer who finally mailed a ninety day bill with one cent postage missing two cents for the stamp. The angry tradesman plans to wire a receipt in full while seeking collection.

Chief Justice reads routine announcements while other justices deliver major decisions in muffled words not heard clearly.
