Death of Grandma Heath Ends 94 Years of Life

Elizabeth Heath died at her daughter’s home in Advance on Tuesday March 20 1928 aged 94 years 9 months and 29 days. She was born May 21 1828 in Monroe County Kentucky and married Johnson Heath in 1851. Surviving are five of seven children including Mrs George Canada Mrs James Darnell Mrs Lina Shelley Mrs Carrie Budd and John Heath. She leaves a brother Tom Nelson and sister Nancy Chavers.

Delegates at the Sixteenth International Convention in Kansas City will hear the Rainbow Chorus of 500 youths on Friday March 30 1928. The Kansas City Star and WDA broadcast will reach North America and Atlantic and Pacific coasts focusing on more than jazz with the chorus featured in the broadcast.

Former New Ross Resident Mary Adkins Dies

Mary L. Adkins 85 a longtime New Ross resident died at 4 45 Sunday in Indianapolis Born February 25 1888 in Aurora Indiana she was the daughter of George and Nancy Taylor An old member of the Missionary Baptist church she married Talbot Adkins of Franklin in 1856 They were prosperous merchants here She is survived by five children Rev W B Adkins Kingfisher OK Mrs Beulah R Brown New Ross Mrs Harriet L Inlow Chicago and Pearl O Curtis and Guy W Adkins Los Angeles Three grandchildren and two great grandchildren Funeral services were held at 2 pm today at the home of Beulah Brown New Ross Burial was in the I C O F cemetery.
