Bootleggers Clean Up Huge Sum in the East
Philadelphia on January 21 reports bootleggers have made more than 100 million dollars in the area. Major William G. Murdock, Pennsylvania prohibition enforcement director, told the anti Saloon League annual meeting that if bootleggers are not crushed in the next year their operations may never be stopped.

Death of Wesley Swope at 53 in Boone County
Wesley Swope aged 53 died at his home near Elizaville after a seven hour illness from apoplexy. Born October 10 1872 in Clinton township Boone County he lived there all his life. Survived by wife Amelia Harris daughter Lena Hollingsworth two granddaughters and two brothers. Funeral Thursday at 1 30 pm at his residence with Rev J J Warburton officiating. Burial in Mud Creek cemetery.

Rosa Martin dies after illness in Advance Indiana
Rosa Belle Martin, born May 24, 1892 in Putnam county Indiana, died at 10 pm Tuesday at her home one mile north of Advance after a long illness. She married William F. Martin May 2, 1906 in Montgomery county. Surviving are her husband, two children Marjorie and Claral Belle, one brother Hiram F. Slavens, one sister Mrs Nola Broshar, and her church, the Methodist, at Advance. Funeral at 11 am Friday from the Advance church, Rev G W Abbitt officiating. burial in Old Union cemetery.

Hurt Dies in Seattle Brother in Law of Thorntown Man
Mrs James Van Horne of Thorntown learns in Seattle of the death of her brother in law J P Hurt who had lived in the west for two years and was buried by the Masons there. Hurt formerly resided near Lebanon and faced a Marion County change of venue last year. The Railway Company failed to timely appeal after verdict and the judgment was paid.

Mrs. Orville Sinclair, 48, died at her home four and one half miles northwest of Thorntown at 10 a m Tuesday from complications. Survived by husband Orville Sinclair father Elam Davis of Colfax three sisters Mrs L B Smith Bluffton Mrs Will Bailey Hillisburg Mrs Bess Marsh Colfax and a brother Ed Davis Humboldt Town. She lived in the Thorntown area all her life and was a member of the Colfax Christian church.
