Floyd Collins was rescued from a sandstone prison in the cave at Cave City but immediately faced another danger as the tunnel wall collapsed. Air is cut off and rescuers fear he will die before night unless air can reach him. Doctors and specialists rushed to the scene as workers widen the slot leading to his chamber. Collins lies in a boxlike space twenty feet long three feet high and three feet wide awaiting rescue while the roof sinks and further collapse threatens his life.

George A. Randel aged 68 years 11 months and 24 days died at 10 a m Wednesday at his home 517 West Main street of heart disease after four weeks illness. Born near Ladoga he lived in Boone county fifty years mainly in Dover, then Lebanon for five years.
