The Advance Opera Company presents Her Gloves a three act farce comedy at the Opera House on Saturday night February 14. The play is a recent New York hit with rights secured locally. Cast features top local talent and tickets go on sale February 7 at Burrin Drug Co.
Advance High School defeated Waveland High School 21 to 9 on a Saturday night. Waveland’s injured player left the game early, and the contest was postponed to the following week. The team eyes Jamestown on February 21 as next action. Players listed include Gregory, Yager, Patton, Bowman, Grimes, Shion, Akins, Barria, Terrell, Waters, Spencer. Referees Marcrum and Demaree.
John Caldwell and Roy Ailes left Advance for southern Illinois to buy milk cows but balked at prices. They instead bought mules after meeting a Native who hinted at nearby stock. The duo returned with the animals and took a two day vacation after the deal, now sheltering at the Caldwell farm southwest of town.

The Hoosier Electric Construction Company will depart soon for Waynetown to wire buildings and install electric light connections. Stakeholders are urged to visit at the earliest opportunity for arrangements and service.

Mt Zion church notes show last Sunday attendance 35 with chapter 179 offering 81.68. Two birthday offerings given for Otis Em mert and Edna Meek. Supt Ora Emmert absent due to family illness. Assoc Supt John Farrow filled vacancy. J D Em mert also absent from Layman's Missionary Meeting at Thorntown on February 10 and 20.
Stewart Chapel notes Mr. Reuben Flion remains about the same. James Spencer’s ditching work continues. The church Friday night debate drew a good crowd despite bad weather. Edd McClaine and family visited Ogle Meleon and family. Mrs. Oliver Hunt and wife visited James Lasley and wife. Artie Morrison and Hosea Strang with ban and wife called on Frank Epper son and wife Sunday.
Verla Higgins observed the birthday offering during a large and enthusiastic church event held last Sunday at a Christian church. The gathering included a school group with six attendees and a collection featuring 1.69 dollar chapters and 380 Bibles were present.

Juniors study Sir Roger de Covery papers and write Addison essays. The basketball game with the Wabashers postponed to Feb 14. Jamestown trip set for Feb 21. Iva Owens absent Friday. Ruth Owens taught in her place. Room 4 enrolled two new students and held a geography match. Eugene Brittinn won 2nd in country contest on tuberculosis. Mr Pointer issued tickets for the school oratorical. Open house exercises planned this week. A typical typewriter agent visited Monday.
Max Abe Stump moved to the Matt Martin farm south of Max. Jack Dean relocated to Lebanon last week and sold property to Will Bennington. Ollie Hunt and wife visited James Lasley on Sunday. O H Clark and wife and Rube Melson and wife spent Sunday with Willis Schanks and wife. Willis Schank and wife with O H Clark and wife and son Walter spent Tuesday in Ladianspolis. The Ladies Aid Society met at the church Wednesday afternoon for their regular business.
