Interurban trolley wire touched the Home Telephone Co. lines at Thorntown last Friday night causing a total outage. The distributing board burned, damage estimated at $500. A new board was installed Sunday. repairs will take days. Toll line connections to Thorntown remain intact.

Pardon Granted to James L. Myers by Governor Hanly

James L. Myers, pardoned by Governor Hanly for killing Bran Sloan at Darlington thirty years ago, left prison happily last Sunday and spent Christmas with friends in Lebanon. He praised the governor and pardoning board, vowed to live honorably the rest of his days, and thanked those who helped secure the pardon.

Leslie Burroughs of Shannondale was fined 10 dollars plus costs by Judge A B Anderson in Indianapolis for shooting a bullet through Wash Conrad’s rural mailbox near Darlington.
