Prof Deitrich of the Wisconsin Experiment Station advises swine growers in the Breeders Gazette that corn alone lacks protein and may be overly bulky. He recommends adding protein up to 160 200 pounds weight via mixtures with oatmeal skim milk middlings ground peas oil meal or tankage or by full slop feed to accelerate growth.

Interurban trolley wire touched the Home Telephone Co. lines at Thorntown last Friday night causing a total outage. The distributing board burned, damage estimated at $500. A new board was installed Sunday. repairs will take days. Toll line connections to Thorntown remain intact.

James L. Myers, pardoned by Governor Hanly for killing Bran Sloan at Darlington thirty years ago, left prison happily last Sunday and spent Christmas with friends in Lebanon. He praised the governor and pardoning board, vowed to live honorably the rest of his days, and thanked those who helped secure the pardon.
Leslie Burroughs of Shannondale was fined 10 dollars plus costs by Judge A B Anderson in Indianapolis for shooting a bullet through Wash Conrad’s rural mailbox near Darlington. Burroughs pleaded guilty after previously claiming the shot was an accident during a hunting trip with his brother. Uncle Sam pursues anyone who tampered with the mail.
