Friday through Sunday motion of neighbors and relatives visiting in Lebanon and nearby towns. Entries list names such as Elizabeth McClaine Meg Cornelius and Bernies, visits to Indianapolis Missouri and Groveland ie, and family gatherings at Wm Caldwell and Jobo Robo households. An infant illness and a stove burn are mentioned among otherwise routine social appearances.
The Advance census directed by local pastors shows 347 town names with 847 total residents. Of 186 males and 162 females, 85 are married, 20 above 21 are eagle, 24 are between 14 and 21, and 52 are under function. Only 29 men and 5 women attend Sunday School regularly.
The Advance Christian Church held its annual meeting on Friday evening with John T Jones presiding. Officers elected include Arthur Swisher as trustee for three years and a slate of elders deacons clerks and financial officers. A social hour followed with coffee doughnut and pie served.
Otis Wright and Leola McClowry captained a high school declamation contest held Thursday night at the town hall. Judges County Superintendent EM Servies Supt A C Kibby and Rev O F Hall awarded top honors to Wright and McClowry with several runners up in a competitive field as the audience heard from four boys and three girls presenting orations. the event showcased earnestness and varying delivery among participants.
The Christian Church of Rev Benseon Ashby prepares a re dedication ceremony for the first Sunday in the new year with a two o clock dedicatory service. Sunday School will be at ten followed by preaching and a basket offering for all attendees. The event recalls the 1900 remodel and invites members to attend and expect a worthy, joyful dedication.
