The Library of Congress is described as the largest and finest library in the world with vast capacity. Rexford Shinn Jr of Shinn and Son marries Miss Lila Chaver in Central Pastor Church with witnesses Ralph Rohn and Ruth Bourne. The couple, from Lebanon now Advance, plan to continue teaching and schooling as they begin married life.
Walter McDaniel and family host a Sunday gathering for son Irl turning 16. Ora Swindler announces a church trustee election meeting at Advance Christian Church on Thursday night January 1. Chas Thompson sells farm west of town to Mrs Ben McClaine and may move to Lebanon for work. Christmas program at Advance Methodist Church postponed to Monday night. everyone invited.
A local store announces its Christmas present ready for pickup with the best and largest stock of holiday goods in Jackson Township. The ad invites customers to come in and snoop around, highlighting a wide variety of gifts for everybody.
A local furniture dealer, Mr Wall, faced skepticism when adding poultry to his business two years ago. Records show from Nov 1918 to Nov 1919 he kept 200 hens and pullets, producing 17,479 eggs and netting 734.10 after expenses. The best month was May with 412.60 worth of eggs. The hens are White Leghorns.
