An electrical storm Tuesday afternoon struck a shock of oats in a field near Clay McConaughy’s home, burning the crop. Several nearby residents reported shocks while the storm raged, and Rev. Oakes Hall of Boston and friends were in the vicinity.

A reunion of the James K. P. Wall family was held at the Wall home near Max last Sunday. A noon dinner fed all attendees and a good time was reported. Present were Sam Caplinger and family, Wm. Johnson and family, Elmer Wall and family, Vern Price and family, Frank Riner and family, Harvey Wall and family of Cinns burg, and Lee Owens and family of Putnam county. It was noted none of the sons or sons in law chew tobacco. ContarsutED
Samuel J. Edrington, a Jefferson township resident, through attorney William H. Smith, files for divorce from Lida Edrington in Boone circuit court. They wed in Greensburg, Indiana on June 5, 1912 and separated July 18 of that year. He describes a once happy home with a thriving farm, but says his wife grew dejected and fault-finding, even demanding removal of a portrait of his first wife and changes to furniture.
Larilda Josephine Whiteley wife of Chas M Whiteley died at their home west of Advance on Wednesday July 31 1912 after a several week illness She leaves husband son Parl and three sisters Effie Stewart Flora Sandlie Alma Beamish and was a member of the North Christian church and Pocahontas lodge Funeral services were held at the North Christian church with interment at Old Mt Zion cemetery
Montague A. Sandy died Sunday at 12 10 p m in Runnel s sanitarium Indianapolis after an appendicitis operation and complications He was 47 and had been ill since October He left Advance for Indianapolis after marriage to Minnie Beck and returned two years ago The funeral was at Flanner Buchanan s parlors in Indianapolis and burial followed at Crown Hill cemetery.
