Numerous local items describe residents visiting relatives in Indiana and Illinois and traveling to Lebanon Decatur and Lafayette. Community updates include illnesses births a funeral and social events at churches and schools with buses to orations and hardware store notices.
Doctin Plunkett of Advance and a Johna of Jamestown wed Tuesday afternoon at four in this city. The ceremony was performed by Squire N A Perri in the local courthouse.
The Children and Grandchildren thank friends and neighbors for kindness and sympathy during the illness and death of our beloved father and grandfather William Clow.
At the Lebanon convention the Democratic ticket was chosen with J. A. Coons for Representative Vasco Dodson for Prosecutor B B McRoberts for Sheriff J T Laughner for Treasurer Walter Whiteeatton for Surveyor Dr O E Brendel for Coroner James A Smock for Commissioner 1st district C W Bristley for Commissioner 2nd district Four ballots decided the Surveyor race Whitscotton 2374 to Brookshire 178 and final tally covered the rest of the slate.
The township Sunday School convention met at the M. E. church in Jamestown last Sunday afternoon with eight schools represented except Ward and Old Union. Chas Young spoke on Teacher Training. Mrs John T Jones could not attend due to a bereavement. Prof Frank McGeath of Montgomery Co U S Association gave a talk on The Home Its Duty and the Sabbath School urging parents to say Lots go to Sunday School rather than You go to Sunday School.
Attendance last Sunday was 3 dollars with 1.87 collected. Rev. Kelley will lead both morning and evening services next Sunday with talks on Watchin what of the Night and The Success of Failure. Miss Verna Cornelius sang at the Sunday School convention. The Home Department invites all unable to attend to join. Public invited to attend.
Sunday attendance reached 74 with Class No 7 leading in points at 150. Russell Allen Kibbey marked his birthday with 3c. Ladies Aid Society will hold a church meeting next Thursday afternoon. The last quarter showed good attendance and strong interest, urging a better upcoming quarter. Janie Jackson assists Stella Gregory in the primary class. Parents urged to send their children if they belong.

The obituary notes death of Wiliams Williams on April 21 1912 at age 84 years 1 month 29 days at his Advance home. He married Louisa Brown in 1858 and lived in Putnam County until 1888 then Boone County near Advance. Father of ten children, surviving wife and two daughters. Born to John Crow of Scotland and a mother from Germany, he served in the Mexican War and endured a three month capture by Indians during a 1856 wagon train trip to Galveston. Short house services Monday at 2 pm conducted by Brothers Ibbey and Gregory. internment Mt Zion.
Anne Kibbey and Sam Woods wed Wednesday at 8 PM at W P Kibbey home. Rev R E Lucas officiated before about 26 relatives and friends. After refreshments, the couple plans to live at the John Emmett property with many well wishers and out of town guests Fay Young Huber Woods Claude Lawler Dorthin Kibby.
State Entomologist Baldwin, visiting Northern Indiana, urges spraying treas. He says cherries were damaged by winter but last year's heavy yield may make this an off year. He notes many peaches killed, young growth most affected. Apples and pears avoid injury until budding. plums may suffer. berries depend on season, with straw berry plants hurt where snow was shallow, while berry bushes survive.
Lebanon High School and Thorntown High School dominated the Boone County Oratorical contest held in Lebanon. Marty Budd of Lebanon won the boys prize, Marguerite Kushner of Thorntown took the girls title. Judges noted close margins for thirds between Advance and Zionsville in both boys and girls contests.
Aview Tolley files for divorce from Ora L. Tolley in Boone circuit court citing failure to provide support and cruel treatment. Both reside in Jackson township. Attorney W H Switch of this city represents the plaintiff.
