The sky displayed an unusual light at two o'clock Sunday as residents recall no prior sighting. Thunder was heard in the west followed by rapid, sharp reports for about thirty minutes. A dark sky saw a thunderstorm with hail and sleet that lasted about thirty minutes.
The city hall hosted the High School performance Under the Laurels on Saturday night. Cast members acquitted themselves nobly and earned credit for presenting a polished exhibition for the public.
Scholars and patrons at the number 11 schoolhouse held a surprise dinner for teacher Miss Edna Bratton at the close of school. Bratton was well liked and hopes are hopes she will return next year.
The Ladies Aid society of Shilo Christian Church will sell chicken and eatables plus aprons bonnets and more this Saturday April 15. Last year’s sale was a great success with goods sold out. come early for best selections.
After two years of service Henry Deatricka abandons the hotel and moves to his property. Mrs Aliie Armstrong, cousin of Mrs Sell Hall, takes charge of the hotel and refurnishes the houses with new furniture and decorations valued at several hundred dollars.
Indianapolis April 8 Whisky was a popular drink in Indiana during March per the internal revenue report. Total collections reached 886000 and change, slightly below last year. Firewater rose by 47008, beer fell about 93000, and cigars rose 72 dollars.

Mail carrier W J DeVoll breaks down Monday morning. Charles Brown and wife and Reese families visit John Kersey Thursday.
Local residents attended a High School play Saturday night. Families including Burke, Sheets, Bicely, and Nicely relatives gathered with friends. The Capital Circuit Traction Meeting in town discussed a Lebanon to Danville road via Litton with bond plans and support from farmers.
