The Adelaide Daily Times announces a phased publication schedule with full sheets on Mon/Wed/Fri, half sheets with advertisements and shipping news on Tue/Thu, and a double sheet on Saturday. Subscription options are quarterly in advance or end of quarter, with delivery from 6 to 9 am and pricing at 1 58 per quarter or 17.5 with credit.
Notices parade fundraising appeals and commercial listings from Adelaide in March and April 1850. Items include a subscription appeal for an exhibition, announcements of lodging, hospitality and ferry services at the North Arm, a Clarendon Hotel dinner and society event, and a ship’s cargo catalog with prices and goods such as sherry, brandy, tobacco, and hardware.
A sales notice lists ladies mantillas and veils in watered silk and tweed, Parisian fashion items, Merino shawls, silks, velvets, printed cashmeres, delaine dresses, fast colour prints, linens, jaconets, muslins, Bonnets and ribbons, lace trimmings, and infant robes and dresses available in extensive varieties.
A collage of fabrics and notions lists linen bed ticks calicoes long cloths blankets serge cashmere and cloth boots leather and kid shoes hats and hoes among other items. The inventory features Horrock's Miller's premiums and assorted textures including Saxony Welsh and Lancashire flannels with mentions of sizes and weights.
An 19th century catalog describes a wide clothing range including Beaver and pilot cloth Chesterfield coats white shirts jackets cashmere tweed and cloth trousers moleskin cotton and worsted delphic serge guernseys lambs wool merino shirts and drawers and overcoats in drab woolen fabrics.
The notices urge patrons to visit the establishment at 23 to view the extensive new goods from recent arrivals. M. and Marks claim the widest and best drapery assortment in the area and plan to clear stock to make room for ships. Country storekeepers are advised to call early to benefit from the clearance.
The Adelaide Times Office advertises as a full printing and book-work service. It asserts competitive terms, offering letter-press priming and newspaper work with a claim of high quality in the colony.
