Singular Larceny Involving Cattle Drove to Baumstown

A Scotsman who had been in the country about two years devised a cattle theft method. He drove a cow and calf, then a herd of cows and bulls, selling the pair or driving on, until overtaken near Baumstown eight miles away. Committed to jail after examination, he claimed another person hired him.
