The report recounts a grisly murder in Paris with a cast of the murdered man and a suspect named Danton whose wrist wound aroused public suspicion. Danton confessed to killing his brother for money, cutting the flesh and disentangling remains, and later admitted an earlier murder of an aunt for wealth. The tale includes a shark in Thames lore and various antiquarian notes and curiosities.
General Putnam famed for bold rashness in 1756 against French and Indians. While trapped on the eastern bank, he steered a boat through a deadly river gorge, narrowly dodging rocks and rapids with calm skill. Indians fled astonished, believing him protected by a higher power.

A Wech found in the Sharko near Poplar by December 1, 1787. The craft showed much denting but did not sink a boat, with an oar still afloat and one survivor very ill. Several items were recovered from its belly on shore, including a silver watch, a metal chain, a camelian coal, and pieces of gold lace, believed to have belonged to a young gentleman.
Constantinople reports a devastating blaze on Friday last, described as one of the most fearful fires in the city. Authorities are not yet certain if the cause was accidental.
A massive blaze swept Constantinople as a government musket factory burned on a Turkish Sabbath. Strong westerly winds fed the flames across the hillside, destroying hundreds of wooden houses and threatening key mosques before the wind abated and the fire began to fade.
