Narrow Escape At Conowago Ferry Near New Oxford
Mr Berkmuimre and a young man narrowly escaped drowning when crossing the Conowago near King's mill New Oxford. The horse and carriage were swept into the stream the horse freed the carriage. both victims were hauled to shore half drowned and relieved by a son who brought them to his home.
