Meeting of Farmers and Manufacturers in Philadelphia 1827
A large gathering at John Neville's house in Germantown, Philadelphia on May 31 1827 discussed promoting domestic manufactures and mechanick arts. Resolutions urged protectionist duties, urged Virginia and southern states to support internal improvements, and named delegates to Harrisburg for the June 27 convention.
