The notice states a weekly Wednesday issue priced at two dollars a year in advance or two dollars and fifty cents if unpaid within the year. Advertising rates cap at a square and rise three times for one dollar, with twenty five cents for each continued insertion. Larger than two squares are charged in the same scale proportionally.
A December 23 1828 Dublin Evening Post excerpt presents a letter to Dr Curtis the Catholic Primate of Ireland from Wellington urging calm study of the Catholic Question. It is retold with Liver pool Mercury commentary urging perseverance and unity for Catholics and friends of liberty. The item also covers Mexico Persia biblical notes a Norway whirlpool account and minor curiosities.
The item recounts Gideon Long of Butter County selling a hog to John Denman for 66 dollars, a canal boat trip to Cincinnati, a gate receipt scam at a sight, and Denman recovering the hog in Louisville after a legal dispute over payment.
A 1260 pound hog weighing in at 1260 pounds was offered 250 dollars for delivery to New York. The buyer plans to transport it to eastern cities to showcase Ohio hog breeding.
