The notice outlines subscription prices of two dollars per year in advance or two dollars and fifty cents if paid later. Small entitlements up to a square cost one dollar for three insertions, with twenty five cents for each continuation. larger squares are charged in the same proportion.
The Village Record summarizes the National Intelligencer report on 1827 receipts and expenditures, public debt, and 1830-31 estimates. It lists Senate and House standing committees, plus assorted notes on naval policy, domestic exports, and annual debt repayments.
Fredericksburg correspondent reports Gen. Jackson friends offended by reference to the U.S. Bank charter not expiring until March 3 1836. Calhoun pressed on the subject calls it very unfortunate. North reports Bank stock pressure as fifteen percent decline fueling speculation and gambling as manipulators seek to depress prices then allow a rapid rebound.
