Missteps escalate from tripping over a dog to spilling cauliflower and butter on a guest, then mistaking chauff eur for custard. Hats swap by accident, ending with a dramatic cauliflower shower and a vow to never again deliver introductions.
A citizen buys spring goslings, only to learn they are old and misrepresented by the countryman. They attempt to sue, settle with a drink, and reveal the hilarity of gullibility. The tale ends with the citizen admitting he was fooled and vowing to drink to ease his wits.
