Adam Eyler of Adams County died at 9 a m at his son George Eyler’s Waynesboro home at 86 years. Concussion from a fall from a moving trolley caused his death after a brief decline in health. He lived in Adams, Emmitsburg, Shirleyburg, then Waynesboro where he ran a livery business until retirement. Funeral in Waynesboro Saturday at 2 pm. Levi Groscost died in Hanover, born 1821 in Adams County near Getz’s mill. He learned blacksmithing in New Oxford, farmed in Hanover, married Louisa Myers, had four children, and Funeral Sept 21 in Hanover. Annie Storm Bushman died suddenly from heart failure at home near town, aged, survived by husband William M. Bushman and several children and siblings. Peter Niederer died at 72 at his daughter's home in Brashtown after two years illness, survived by sons Peter and John and daughters.

A Gettysburg to Pittsburg auto party was struck by a passenger train at Dixpont Crossing near Pittsburg. Miss Edna B. Doe of Washington, D C is dead. Walter J Wilson of Glen Osborne is dying from skull fracture. His wife injured and bedraggled. Max Feltwell of Sewickley has three ribs broken. The group had toured from Washington to visit Miss Doe, a Washington social figure.

Death of John Carter 24 at Gettysburg from Bright’s disease
John Carter a well known Black resident of Gettysburg died suddenly at his High Street home around 11 am from Bright’s disease at age 24. He was son of Isaac Carter, survived by sisters Mrs John Oley and Priscilla, and brothers Walter, Clinton, James, Singleton, Benjamin, Oliver, all of Gettysburg. A Gettysburg High School graduate, he studied at Meharry Medical College and would have entered the junior year. He had been ill about a month.

Half Apple Half Peach Fruit Found in Franklin County
J A Heffner of Waynesboro procured a freak peach at J M Newcomer’s orchard near Quincy Franklin County. The fruit is half apple and half peach with one side hard and smooth and the other soft and velvety. Heffner says bees transferred honey from the apple blossom to the peach blossom creating the hybrid.

Seized Guard Canvas Recovered From Citizens
Thirty one pieces of National Guard canvas worth about $600 have been recovered by Major L. V. Ranosch and the state constabulary from local citizens. Some tents date back several years and will be shipped to the state arsenal at Harrisburg. The search expanded from three pieces to a town wide effort with several pieces still missing. Officials warn that more trouble could follow if the tents are not returned.
