James Delaney Murdered After Hagerstown Assault
James Delaney known as Brooklyn Jack, who faced Adams County Court in 1911 for assaulting Officer Shearer, was attacked in Hagerstown last Friday night and died Wednesday in Washington County Jail from a fractured skull. An autopsy showed brain clots and a fracture above the right ear. his true identity remains uncertain.

Irishtown athlete George H. Lawrence once a leading shortstop on local diamonds broke the bones of the index finger of his right hand when struck during play. He is out of commission for several days. Hon William McClean and Miss Olivia McClean have traveled to New York City for a week.

Missionary Magazine Program At Presbyterian Church
The Illustrated Missionary Magazine presented an original program at the Presbyterian Church Wednesday night. Mrs. W. H. Lott presided. Anna Gilliland portrayed the Spirit of Missions. Children acted as immigrants and Ellis Island arrivals while Miss Hess staged living pictures. Editors in charge included Mrs. Stouffer and Mrs. Lott with several Kerrs Gillilands and Hess among others. Continuous light refreshments followed.

Boy Hurt by Colt Near Hampton
Roy Mummett son of Jacob Mummett of near Hampton was kicked by a colt in a pasture. The animal jumped back over the fence striking him on the head and cutting a gash needing several stitches. Dr Leh attended the injury.

Students End Hunger Strike Of Four Days By Two Juniors
Edwin L. Folk of York and Paul W. Quay of Phoenixville both juniors at the college attempted a four day hunger strike by eating only water after a noon meal on Sunday. Folk quit after eight meals and Quay after nine, both resuming normal eating by evening.

Samuel Minnebraker was released after arrest for involvement in the assault on umbrella mender James Delaney, who died from head wounds in the Hagerstown jail. Evidence showed Minnebraker did not leave his father's home the night of the assault.

Screen Door Scratch Fatal: Eva Waltman Palmer Dies at 69
Mrs Eva Waltman Palmer of near Littlestown Hanover died after blood poisoning from a minor arm scratch caused by a screen door. She was 69 years old and survived by her husband four daughters and seven siblings. Funeral services were held October 26 at St Pauls Lutheran Hanover with interment at Mt Olivet cemetery.

Chestnut Blight Claimed Poison False by State Experts
