Littlestown Man Invents Airship Patent
Rev W D Lefevre of Dover Delaware and his brother Enoch Lefevre of Littlestown have patented an airship with a vertical mast and stationary aeroplanes. Eight vertical lifting propellers powered by a high speed engine provide lift. They claim the eight revolving planes offer more lifting surface than existing airships and plan to test the machine in Dover after recent demonstrations in New York.

The Rev J Marion Mickley, former county resident, died Tuesday morning at the home of his son in law Dr El A Shulenberger in Carlisle. A Franklin and Marshall College and Mercerburg Theological Seminary graduate, he served as Civil War chaplain before leading multiple charges in Pennsylvania Ohio and Maryland. Jean H Schwartz of Hanover, a brick drayman known in Adams County, was fatally struck by a trolley car in Hanover on Wednesday morning. He died at 11 45 a m from internal injuries after being treated by Dr G A Jordy and at his home. More than seventy entries are registered for a national highway endurance run from New York City to Atlanta. The route, chosen from several trials, travels via Gettysburg Trenton Philadelphia Lancaster York Roanoke Staunton Shenandoah Valley to Roanoke then across North Carolina South Carolina and Georgia ending in Atlanta at a total distance of 1050 miles. The event aims to promote better roads and begins next Tuesday with tourists stopping overnight in Gettysburg.
