York chosen as the meeting site for the 1914 joint convention of the Pennsylvania Dairy Men's Association the State Horticultural Association the Pennsylvania Live Stock Breeders Association and the American Berkshire Congress. The Gettysburg Fire Company voted to pledge 500 toward a new automobile fire engine and raise it via shows and fairs rather than using Relief Fund. Protect Park Deer In Caledonia Reserve
The State Game Commission plans to declare Caledonia Park a reserve to keep hunters from shooting deer in the park and to improve safety. A doe was found dead near Intake dam after being chased by dogs. it was buried after veterinary care and an officer noted dogs caused most of the damage. Owners face fines of 25 dollars per deer pursued and 50 dollars per deer killed, doubled after notice.
