Anthony Whaley’s estate totals about $50,000, largely real estate, with the widow alive for life and the remainder to twenty nephews and nieces. The sisters, long associated with the elopement of Floretta to Rev. Jere K. Cooke, once a Gettysburg College student, lived under the Balcolm name at 2428 Pine Street San Francisco. The couple eloped about a year earlier and faced uncertainty in San Francisco before moving onward.

Pastor Diehl Takes New Charge at Two Churches

Mad dog scare hits Kralltown and Wellsville

Badly Hurt In Football Game At Emmitsburg
Roy Plank son of Mr and Mrs Harvey Plank of North Washington Street was seriously hurt in a football game between Gettysburg Athletic Club and Mt. St. Marys at Emmitsburg on Thursday. He sustained severe injuries to head and abdomen and was unconscious for minutes. He recovered briefly but lapsed into a coma for days. Relatives were summoned as fear of fatal outcome loomed. The game resumed after he was carried from field and he was brought home Friday.
