New Industry Opens on Mountain Farm at Gladhill Siding
On the Wills farm at Gladhill siding a new industry has begun with Advance Supply Co. erecting a 70 foot square building. Five crushers convert local rock into rice sized particles used to make slag roofs. The fine stone is applied to paint on roots, yielding a iron-like consistency. Three wagonloads of material are shipped daily, with a supply expected to last for years.

Daniel H Stonesifer dies in Illinois after long farming life
Daniel H Stonesifer of Reading township died Monday at 6 50 am in Lee county Illinois. He left Adams County in 1866 at age 17 and was a prosperous farmer until death. He married in Illinois and leaves seven children. Surviving brothers are Joseph G Stonesifer of Williamsport Elias Stonesifer of Springfield Ohio and I S Stonesifer of Gettysburg.

Isaac W. Bucher Taken by Death in Adams County
Isaac W. Bucher 73 died at his Seven Stars home after months of illness. A Franklin Township native and Civil War veteran, he served as captain in Company B 21st Pennsylvania Cavalry and witnessed Appomattox. He was a G A R member, former Adams County poor director, and Flehr's Lutheran church member. Survived by his wife Sarah Hartman Bucher and six children. Funeral at his home Sunday nine AM and at Flehr's Lutheran Arendtsville church with burial in Arendtsville cemetery.

Death of Meades Headquarters caretaker Harry Miller
Harry Miller, over twenty years caretaker at Meade's Headquarters on Taneytown Road, was found dead in his locked house this morning by Colonel E. B. Cope and Charles Rider. He was sixty and had not been in robust wealth recently. He spoke of not feeling well Thursday evening and asked to call for help if worse. The Rider house is nearby. Miller’s body was found on the floor after the door was pried open. He leaves parents Mr and Mrs Daniel Miller and several siblings. Funeral set for Sunday afternoon from Meade’s Headquarters with interment in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mervin O. Bream Dies After Illness in Philadelphia Hospital
Mervin O. Bream mail carrier on Idaville Route 1 died Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 in the Methodist Episcopal Hospital Philadelphia after an operation for stomach trouble. He leaves his wife and two sons Ralph and Arthur, plus several brothers and sisters. Funeral for M O Bream of Idaville will be held Sunday at 9 am at his late home with services and interment at New Chester at 2 pm officiated by Rev S E Smith and Rev W A Korn.

Thirteen Does Seen in One Deer Herd Near White Pine Sanitarium
W S Pollinger of Chambersburg saw thirteen does in a single herd along the oil line about a mile from the White Pine Sanitarium. The sight cited by Chambersburg Public Opinion as a strong argument to extend a deer hunting ban for years. A warm doe carcass lay nearby, indicating a recent unlawful shot. Forester R G Conklin ordered the body sent to Chambersburg Hospital. Reports from Center County note wanton deer and elk killings by eight Lebanon hunters after a two week Cinennamahoning camp. Thirteen does and two elk were found. elk weighed 700 and 400 pounds and were shipped to the nearest hospital. Clarence Bream bagged an eight-point buck on closing day. Near Mont Alto, Charles Simmers and Samuel Bumbaugh, wood gathering, spotted a buck grazing. it fled as they approached, the deer pausing before vanishing into the brush.
