Gettysburg man dies after long newspaper career
Thomas J. Stable longtime Gettysburg resident and newspaper worker died at his Baltimore street home from pneumonia at age 81 years 1 month 25 days. He was born March 20 1847, owned the Gazette with his father and later partnered with his brother. Survived by wife Emma M Wolf, two children Louise and Robert N Stable, two sisters and one brother. Funeral Friday at 11 am from his home, interment in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mrs Agnes Althoff Dead After Illness at 71
Mrs Agnes Althoff widow of William J. Althoff died Friday night at 9 50 at the home of her daughter Mrs Sylvester Mummert in York after a thirteen week illness of complications. She leaves two daughters Mrs Lillie Storm of Hanover and Mrs Mummert, six sons John E Althoff Elmer George Benjamin William and Rosswell all of York, four sisters Mrs Henry Martin Mrs James Yade Mrs Alexander Yost and Mrs Annie Boyer. She was a daughter of the late Josephinus Owings of McSherrys Nye.

A Baltimore Levering Brothers foundry in Hanover burned completely after 1 o clock Wednesday evening. Estimated loss about 8000 dollars, partly insured. Fire started likely from hot iron igniting woodwork. building was frame, burned to the ground. Hundred of wooden molds and machinery destroyed. Foundry had operated two years employing about seventy five men. Firemen saved nearby Long Furniture and Smith Symphous factories from damage. A new foundry will be built soon as work continues.
