A not guilty verdict was returned Tuesday in the City Hotel barroom shooting case of William Black who fired at Charles Tyson earlier that morning. Black pleaded guilty to carrying concealed weapons as other minor cases and continuances were disposed of at November Court.

Deer Hunters Fire On South Mountain Grounds
Sportsmen from Cashtown and Waynesboro report numerous deer taken on South Mountain and Green Ridge near Caledonia. Body of Richard Ham taken to Maine after suicide at Eagle Hotel
Richard M. Ham died by self inflicted gunshot at the Eagle Hotel Friday. The body will be buried in Portland, Maine, his former home, with the hotel to be run by his estate until further notice. Ham, 41, was born May 7, 1872 in Fayette, Maine. He had a notable hotel career in Boston, Cape May, Washington, Philadelphia, and Gettysburg, where he resided briefly. He married Eunice Rowe nine years ago and they had five children, four living. He was a popular figure among Philadelphia newsmen and hotel circles, and directed major banquets including one for President Taft.

Former local physician dead in Emmitsburg at 57
Dr. John Riegle of Emmitsburg died at 1 30 PM Wednesday from heart trouble aged 57. He had been in failing health months but death was sudden. Born near Gettysburg he studied in Gettysburg and practiced in Bromitsburg before settling in Emmitsburg. Survived by wife, two daughters Mrs Edgar Smickle of Waynesboro and Florence at home, plus brothers Emory York Harry Riegle and sisters Eleanor and Peter Riegle.

Death of Latimore Township hunter George Snyder at Borners Hill
George Snyder of Latimore Township died Monday morning while hunting on Borners Hill with his brother Denton. He grew ill, sat on a stump, and expired minutes later after being helped to a wagon. He was unmarried, survived by his mother, three sisters and five brothers. Funeral at his home Wednesday at one, burial at Lower Bermudian Church.
