General Lomax Dies After Fall at Washington Home
General Lunsford Lindsay Lomax a Gettysburg National Park Commission member for eight years died in Washington from injuries suffered in a fall last week at his sister's Warrenton Virginia home His death ends a career spanning West Point 1856 service in both Civil War armies and later Confederate service He leaves two daughters Mrs Wood and Miss Anne Page Lomax and his funeral was held in Washington before interment in Warrenton Virginia

White Car Company of Cleveland plans a near daily two trip schedule between Gettysburg Chambersburg and Caledonia. First car would leave Gettysburg about 7 45 am connecting with Caledonia trolley at 9 00 am arriving Chambersburg 9 45 am. The Chambersburg trolley from 8 45 am would connect with the Gettysburg motor car leaving Caledonia at 9 00 and reaching Gettysburg at 10 15. Afternoon run would depart Gettysburg 3 45 pm arriving Caledonia 5 00 pm and Chambersburg 5 45 pm. Car seats eighteen including driver. Stops at Graeffenburg Inn and similar places. Fare Chambersburg Gettysburg likely seventy five cents one way. Signal flags to indicate requested stops for travelers.

The Chambersburg boosters auto mobile run to Washington passed through town on Tuesday but received little attention. The automobile club of Delaware county will visit Gettysburg Thursday on its route to Staunton Virginia. They depart near Philadelphia the morning of May 29 and spend the night in Gettysburg. A large number of machines will participate.

High School Receives Framed Abbey Print as Senior Gift

Knights Parade Through York Earn Warm Welcome
Gettysburg Commandery No 79 Knights Templar with the Citizens Band paraded in York on Tuesday amid rain then clearing. The march drew strong applause along the route, especially at the home of William H. Wierman, with former Gettysburg residents joining in. The group performed concerts and returned to Gettysburg at 1:30 a.m.

Obituary for Aloysius Smith of Hanover
Aloysius Smith, aged 82 years 7 months 23 days, died at his Hanover home at 1 15 p m Friday after a two week illness from a complication of diseases. He was a son of Joseph and Margaret Smith from Mountpleasant township and moved to Hanover at age 18. In 1854 he married Agnes M Hemler of Mountpleasant. she died January 1900. He leaves five sons and three daughters.

Thief Enters Conewago Farm Home While Family Slept
A burglar entered the old Rahn farm home of Wherley Brown in Conewago township through a first floor window. He visited multiple bedrooms, took $60 from a bureau, seized a farm worker's revolver, and stole jewelry and a watch. He left without waking anyone, lighting matches to search rooms. Burned matches marked the path, and the pantry door was found unlocked upon discovery.

Veterans on Hike From Pittsburgh to Gettysburg for 50th Anniversary
Two veterans begin a long march from Pittsburgh to Gettysburg to join the 50th anniversary celebration of the battle. Peter Guibert, 70, served in the 74th and 77th Pennsylvania Volunteers, will trek the distance. John Conroy, 62, served against the Comanche in Texas from 1872 to 1877, accompanies him. They left North Side City Hall at 9 AM Monday.

Wrong Medicine Endangers Infant In New Oxford
Mr and Mrs C M Stough of New Oxford nearly lost their infant daughter after the father gave the child a full dose of medicine intended for the mother. The mother’s dose and the infant’s were separately labeled but placed together on a bureau. The physician acted to save the child after hours of effort.
