Woman Found Dead by Hanging at County Home
The body of Mrs. Margaret 8. Hepler, about 49, was discovered Thursday at 4:30 a.m. in the insane department of Gettysburg County Home. A sheet formed a noose from an iron window bar, leaving her kneeling as the ligature took effect. She had recently come to Gettysburg for nervous prostration and resided earlier in Reading as a nurse. Survived by father John Leas and siblings John, Walter, Louisa, Ella, and Anna Fleck. Funeral at his father’s home, 254 York Street, Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

Local amateurs stage Braggs farce at high school alumni
Local amateurs presented What Happened to Braggs at the High School Alumni Association Wednesday evening in Walter's Wizard. The two hour farce raised 50 dollars for the school’s manual training department and featured a cast of former play stars led by John Biecher as Colonel Braggs and Ernie Ziegler as his double.

Lost in City man held in Baltimore police custody
A neatly dressed man about 60 who gives the name William H. Krome and says he lived at Mont Alto is being held at the Northwestern police station awaiting contact with relatives. He walked most of the way to Baltimore and believes he is in Gettysburg. Marshall Farnan is coordinating with Mont Alto authorities to locate his relatives. Krome, a former Mont Alto resident, moved to Hagerstown years ago and later stayed with his daughter in Baltimore. his wife died in Hagerstown about ten years ago.

Paul Thompson Arrested In York Larceny Case

May Shoot Quail Bill Fails In Senate Vote
In a state senate session the Kern House bill to prohibit quail killing for two years from November 1 failed 20 to 18.
