Engine Spark Sets Man on Fire Near Gettysburg
Charles E. Adams of Aspers suffered severe burns to his back when a spark from an engine lighted his coat aboard a Reading night freight outside Gettysburg. The blaze, fanned by train movement, burned coat, vest, and underclothing, leaving an eight inch square area and intense pain before crew members and Dr. J. R. Dickson treated him.

Donald Swope esq. found his walnut filing case and waste basket on fire upon returning to his Time J office after a short absence. Fire destroys fertilizer shed at Table Rock station
The fertilizer shed at Table Rock station owned by Harry Shultz burned to the ground on Wednesday. Fire officials said sparks from a passing freight likely started the blaze. Despite efforts to extinguish it, the structure was completely destroyed.

Town boys win big in first interclass track meet
The first annual interclass track meet at Nixon Field Tuesday saw Juniors win with 38 12 points. John Zinn led with two firsts in 100 and 220 yard dashes, John Sachs second in the mile and runner-up in the half mile, Maurice Baker won the two mile in 12 33 4-5. Gearhardt excelled in sprint events and Hatter cleared 8 feet 2 12 inches in pole vault. Gettysburg to face Bucknell next Saturday at Nixon Field.

Fire gutts C P Binning frame cottage in Hancock
The frame cottage of C P Binning merchant Hancock was gutted by fire shortly after 3 o clock Thursday afternoon. The blaze started on the second floor, origin unknown, possibly a spark from an engine. It had eaten through the roof when found. Clothing on the second floor was destroyed while first floor contents were saved. An employee of Binning’s lumber yard discovered the fire. Loss about 500 dollars, insured.

Speed Limit Increased for Gettysburg and Towns
The new automobile act signed by Governor Stuart raises the speed limit in Gettysburg and similar towns from eight to twelve miles per hour. Country roads adopt a limit of twenty four miles per hour. The law does not permit vehicles to run so fast as to endanger pedestrians, even if the speed is reached.
