Doctor Clarence Rether Dies After Road Discovery
Dr. Clarence Rether, prominent Biglerville physician, was found unconscious in the Meadow Valley Stock Farm road near Gettysburg at 6:20 am Thursday and died minutes later from alcoholism. He, aged about 58, had visited Leander Fanss’s farm the previous evening, talked with residents, and lay in the rain overnight. Coroner Woomer ruled no inquest. Survived by wife in Hagerstown, three children, and two brothers. Funeral at St Paul’s Lutheran Biglerville Saturday at 2:50 pm. burial Centre View Cemetery.
