Arrests in Waynesboro charge larceny and kidnapping
Charles Corwell formerly near Fairfield and now in Gettysburg was arrested in Waynesboro on larceny charges and a potential kidnapping claim regarding his own child. He faced a hearing by Justice D B Martin and was held for court after a livery stable incident where he allegedly took change and threatened a knife, with two checks later returned to the accuser’s son. He was lodged overnight and sent to Chambersburg for trial.

Burglary Attempt Fails at Burkee Store in McSherrystown
In McSherrystown on March 19 an attempted burglary targeted Frank Burkee’s store and Clarence Smith’s residence.
