Frederick agent W T Mullenix dies at 57
W T Mullenix of Frederick died Thursday at age 57. He long served as an agent for the Baltimore and Ohio at Frederick. He is survived by his wife and daughter Barbara Mullenix who has visited Gettysburg often. Rosie Elizabeth Osborn, daughter of Levi J Osborn and wife of Guildens Station, died Saturday February 19 at age 1 month 17 days. Interment was Tuesday at Pines Church.

Mrs Susan Farney died at her Cumberland township home Friday night aged 72 years 5 months and 15 days. One sister survives. Funeral Tuesday at the house at 10 a m with interment in Evergreen Cemetery. Rev G W Sherrick officiating.

Infant Child of Shank Family Dies at Ridge Road
The infant child of Mr and Mrs Shank of Ridge Road died at home last week. Funeral services were held at Bender's church.

Clergyman and Police Foil Chicken Thief Scout in Gettysburg
Rev V T Rue, former Gettysburg and New Oxford pastor now in Waynesboro, sounded the alarm after chickens crowed at 2 a.m. He and George W Wallace, joined by two officers, searched nearby premises, counted chickens, and found none stolen. The next morning three or four fowls were killed by rats.

Former Slave George Keyes Dies in Hanover Home
George Keyes an aged African American of Hanover died at his home on Thursday night. Born on a Virginia plantation near Leesburg before the Civil War he served as body servant to a Confederate captain and witnessed the Ball’s Bluff engagement on the Potomac. Born enslaved his parents were slaves. Freed in 1863 he moved to Shenandoah Valley then Winchester before settling in Hanover for about 40 years. His wife died 15 years ago and four children survive him.

Carey Black Pleads Guilty in Cumberland Court
Carey Black near Wenksville shot a man named Sampson when warned to stay out of his cellar. He was captured after severe wounds to his legs, confined in Cumberland County jail, and given $200 recognizance with suspended sentence.

In Hamiltonian township near Fairfield within three days two children of Mr and Mrs Charles Hoffman died of pneumonia. John Hovis of Mont Alto rented a farm near Hade's church and planned to move there with Benjamin Sprow. They unloaded furniture and set up a stove for the night. A strange noise pushed them to return home, extinguishing the fire and carrying the stove back by 4 a.m.
