The seventh annual Patriotic Order Sons of America Camps convention will meet in Arendtsville on Saturday August 9 with two business sessions and a street parade. Delegates from Gettysburg Bendersville East Berlin Heidersburg New Oxford Littlestown Cashtown and Arendtsville will attend. Local speakers include Roy D. Knouse J Louis Sowers and T C Hesson with Herman Miller expected as state president. Washington Camp 453 plans to attend Gettysburg Independence Day events July 3 and the transportation committee will arrange carpooling for members. gather at 4 p m July 3. Members urged to attend camp Tuesday June 29 for officer elections and paraphernalia.

Fisherman Treks Water Dog at Eisenhart Dam
Jesse Zeigler fishing with companions at Eisenhart dam on Conewago Creek near East Berlin jumped to free a line. He grabbed what he thought was a bass but pulled ashore a large water dog about 18 inches long. It resembles an alligator and was killed. first such sighting in the area.
