After an illness of a year James V Morrison a Civil War veteran with many Gettysburg friends died Friday morning at his Philadelphia home. He was 76 and had served as chief clerk in the city tax office for 21 years. Morrison fought in McClellan's Peninsula campaigns, was wounded at Fredericksburg, imprisoned at Libby, rose to colonel, and held posts in the Grand Army of the Republic. Funeral was Monday at 10 from his residence.
