Dedicated Fine New Monument to General Sedgwick at Gettysburg
Ceremonies marked the dedication of Connecticut's 25000 memorial to Major General John Sedgwick, north of Little Round Top. Survivors and Sedgwick relatives filled the audience as Lt. Col. Kilbourne and sculptor H. K. E. Bush-Brown spoke, and the statue was formally handed to the War Department. The monument, overlooking the Valley of Death near Peach Orchard, is the fifth large equestrian statue on the Gettysburg battlefield.

Gettysburg Scouts to Carry Wilson Message to Chicago
Fifteen Gettysburg boys chosen by Rev. J. B. Baker will run one mile each to transport a message from the White House to Chicago for a national athletic carnival. The relay covers about 800 miles, starting June 24 at 2:30 a.m. and ending around 5:30 p.m. in Gettysburg, with two automobiles shadowing the runners and a Chambersburg boy waiting to take over at progression points. The group includes Roy Mundorf, Ralph Stover, Paul McClain, and others from the Gettysburg Boy Scouts, who will progress about half the distance here and possibly farther toward Emmitsburg.

Motors Add Interstate Car Service Between Caledonia and Gettysburg
Beginning early next week the Chambersburg and Gettysburg trolley line will launch a motor truck shuttle between Caledonia and Gettysburg, offering three to four trips daily. Chambersburg Auto Co will run five or six cars as needed, with D. G. Pfoutz directing operations and staging battlefield work from Gettysburg. Pfoutz expects each run to carry fifty to sixty passengers, with many reservations already requested from visitors afar. The company is preparing storage for over one hundred autos as interest grows from New York, Washington DC, and Western states.

Mount St Marys student killed by Boston officer
Ralph Shea, a Mount St. Marys College student at Emmitsburg, was shot and killed by Boston patrolman Charles W. Miller after a gang fight in the South End. A local girl says Shea intervened for the distressed, while Miller claims self defense after bottles were thrown and a crowd pressed him. Shea was home on a three week vacation and had no drink in his life, friends say. Superintendent Pierce said Miller would not be relieved pending investigation.

Mad Dog at Mount Holly and Widow Halm's Death
