Little Boy Severely Cuts Foot Near Heidlersburg
Willie Bankert six years old son of Ezra Bankert near Heidlersburg cut his foot badly while cutting skin from a limb. He tried the dangerous task alone when the accident occurred. Mr Bankert summoned help and neighbors aided. Dr Shute sewed the wound though the child nearly bled out before arrival of aid. Neighbor Mr Weaver stopped the flow of blood. The child is recovering as well as expected.

Two Accidents Near Seven Valley Pit Farm
Two serious accidents occurred near Seven Valley. William Hostler fractured his right collarbone when a wagon loaded with grain overturned on the Franklin Fissel farm tenanted by Harry Fissel at about 7 30 in the morning. A two year old child of Jacob Ferry on Levi Brenneman's farm fell into a bucket of hot water and was badly scalded. Dr Fick es attended and dressed the burns.

States to Join in Celebration of Gettysburg Centennial
The Pennsylvania State Commission coordinating the fiftieth anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg reports that nearly every state and the National Government will send delegates to a Harrisburg conference on October 12 1912 to plan the 1913 semi centennial events. Delegates and Pennsylvania commissioners will meet Governor Stuart, who will welcome them before traveling to Gettysburg. A general plan is hoped to be agreed, with each Legislature informed in the winter. No final action has been taken yet, but officials hope to include governors, state leaders, and troops from all states, with a prominent role for the United States Government.

Caught Thief Powell Arrested in Gettysburg
Garfield Powell of Baltimore was arrested in Gettysburg by Detective Charles A. Wilson on suspicion of stealing about $25 from Dr. Jamison in Emmitsburg. Powell admitted guilt after denial, had traveled via Waynesboro, and was found with $12.68 of the stolen money.

Bicycle Thieves Arrested in Maryland Return
Hanover officer Duttera recovered two bicycles from Charles Zepp and Bernard Harding of McSherrystown. The bikes, owned by Augustus Feeser and Oscar Rife of Midway, were seized in Baltimore July 20 while being offered for disposal. Zepp and Harding faced charges before Squire George L. Rice. Harding remained jailed at Adams County and Zepp at York on additional money-larceny accusations.
