Youngsters Escape Mont Alto Sanatorium Hike to Gettysburg
Four tubercular boys aged 10 to teen from Steelton Philadelphia and Chester fled Mont Alto for a 20 mile hike to home. They arrived in Gettysburg tired hungry and were taken in by Officer Bremons before sheriff and sanitarium authorities were informed. They returned to Mont Alto for further months of treatment.

Jacob Brame longtime Heidlersburg resident dies at 75
Jacob Brame, aged 75 years, 9 months, and 7 days, a prominent farmer and longtime resident of Heidlersburg, died at his home after a brief illness. He was a devout Lutheran, served as deacon at St Mark's, and is survived by his wife Elizabeth Raffensperger Brame, ten children, thirteen grandchildren, and several siblings. Funeral at St Mark's Lutheran Church with interment in Evergreen Cemetery.

Five Days Jail For Drunkenness In Monday Charge
A man identifying as Q Riley was jailed for five days after being taken in charge by Officer Wilson Monday afternoon. The report lists Mel G Dixon Fire Marshall Baldwin Major John C Groome and State Police involvement. The council approved a uniform curb project on West High street from Baltimore street to the Washington street area and left the Stratton Stevens grade question to the highway committee. The Board of Health requested notices warning private parties not to dump filth on the town dump and referred the stone sewer issue to the sewer committee. The next council meeting is set for Tuesday evening August 5.
