On Wednesday evening a lodge of the Knights of Maccabees was organized in Gettysburg. Officers elected include Post Commander C. S. Reaser and Commander George E. Spangler with other officers named. The Knights of the Maccabees of the World were organized in Port Huron, Michigan, and now lead American fraternal societies with about 10 million dollars in surplus funds.

Death of Conductor Falls From Trestle at Tom's Creek
Charles Stebbins, 40, conductor on an extra Western Maryland freight, died after falling about 35 feet from a trestle near Tom's Creek in the early hours of Thursday. He was not missed until the train reached Gettysburg. cause remains uncertain with theories including a brake wheel release or misstep. Coroner said no inquest necessary. He was married with one child and his body was sent to Hagerstown for burial.

Jacob Lott Dies in Kingfisher After Brief Illness
Jacob Lott aged 93, formerly of Adams County, died at his Kingfisher Oklahoma home on June 22 after a brief illness. Born in Mountpleasant township in 1829, he served in the Civil War and later moved to Abilene Kansas then Kingfisher. He is survived by his wife, four sons, two daughters and many relatives in Gettysburg and Adams County. Funeral services were held in Kingfisher with interment at Abilene.
