More Work At Copper Mine Near Charmian
Excavations for the foundation of a new smelter plant at Eagle copper mines Charmian are finished. The frame building will measure about 60 by 140 feet and sit near the Western Maryland Railway. The mine features an inclined shaft 300 to 400 feet deep, auxiliary shafts, and water filling the lower levels, with ore cars hauled by a steam hoist. Water must be pumped out before operations resume.
