John C Stouffer, who lived alone in a small Edgemont cabin, was found dead by unknown men at noon Wednesday. An inquest was deemed unnecessary after Justice Ferguson of Smithsburg viewed the scene. He is survived by two brothers, Henry M Stouffer of Edgemont and Abraham Stouffer of Ship, and a sister Mrs Mary Harne of Greencastle.

Littlestown January 18 reported a sleigh crash on Hanover Street as Jonas Small drove down the trolley line. The horse was driven to a culvert at Eli Baseboar’s, fell breaking its leg, and was struck by a passing trolley, fatally killed.
