Dr W S McPherson died Monday evening at his grandson William McGill's home in Catoctin Furnace. He was 92, the oldest physician in Frederick County, and had lived on the McPherson estate for 50 years. A 1868 labor and agriculture superintendent, he served four years and belonged to Maryland's last Constitutional Convention. He left two children, Thomas Buchanan McPherson and Mrs Mary B McGill. Mrs Susanna Carbaugh, wife of the late Caleb Carbaugh, also died Monday.
