At a joint Waynesboro and Jacobs Lutheran meeting held Saturday evening, Rev. Austin A. Keil’s salary rose from 1500 to 1800 dollars annually with 300 dollars funded by the Waynesboro congregation. Methodist conference set with Rev Fasick to speak

Shooting incident involves Smithsburg youths
Raymond Buhrman, 16 or 17, living near Smithsburg, was shot in the hip at close range by fellow youth Robinson after an evening dispute. Buhrman was taken home, Robinson spent the night in a nearby barn, and doctors report no broken bones though risk of infection remains. Buhrman’s recovery is hoped, with care under a physician.

Parcels Post Report From Gettysburg In First Week

Train Conductor Ambrose Wetzel Dies After Fall at Hampstead
Ambrose Wetzel 45 an extra freight conductor aboard a Western Maryland train fell between the train and a platform at Hampstead Wednesday afternoon. He suffered a fractured back and facial injuries and died at Nash ville hospital two hours later. He lived in Hanover with his wife and son in Baltimore. The coroner released the case without an inquest.

Mrs Joseph Harvick Remains Bedbound After Accident
Mrs. Joseph Harvick of near Wellsville, who last June fell from a cherry tree and broke her back, still lies in a similar condition at home. She was taken to Harrisburg Hospital where doctors said nothing could be done, then returned home to be cared for by her two daughters. Her lower body is paralyzed but she is in good health and cheerful.

Miss Sarah P Horner aged over eighty, long a Gettysburg resident and milliner, was found dead in her Eckert building room by Rev L F Brown. She suffered heart disease for years and had adopted five children.
